Medical emergency station was created on June 30th, 1902 by the organization of Kievan doctors and was called saving station. The stuff included chief doctor, eight on-call doctors, eight nurses, three horse carriage drivers, a courier, and a cleaning person. Transportation consisted of three horse carriages. station was situated on 6 Pirogova st.
Currently (late 1990s), medical emergency department has 16 substations and 121.5 brigades per day
